Oman Housing Bank clarifies guidelines for Royal grant on housing loans

The Oman Housing Bank has issued a statement clarifying guidelines for the Royal grant announced by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

Muscat – As per the orders of His Majesty the Sultan, citizens with monthly salaries or pensions of RO 400 or less are exempted from their housing loan obligations.

This initiative, aimed at easing the financial burdens of lower-income citizens, also extends to individuals whose services have been terminated from the private sector, provided their previous salary was also RO 400 or less.

The grant is designed to cover the remaining housing loans for specific categories of citizens who meet the criteria, including retirees and those who have lost their jobs in the private sector.

Eligibility Criteria: The grant applies to citizens whose monthly salary or pension is RO 400 or less.

Eligible Categories:

  • Citizens employed in the public or private sectors, as well as retirees, whose total salary/pension at the end of December 2024 does not exceed RO 400.
  • Individuals who were terminated from private sector employment and were receiving a monthly salary of RO 400 or less at the time of termination.
  • Self-employed individuals must provide proof that their total monthly income does not exceed RO 400.
  • For joint loans, the grant will be considered if the salary of one of the spouses is RO 400 or less.
