SAUDI ARABIA: The move, published in the government gazette Umm Al Qura, is part of a broader effort to enhance road safety and modernize regulatory frameworks.

The amendment, approved by the Saudi Cabinet, is detailed in Royal Decree No. M/140, which repeals Article 71 of the Traffic Law and updates the second schedule of violations to include this new offense. The Ministry of Interior has been tasked with revising the executive regulations to align with these changes.

This decision follows thorough consultations with the Shura Council and recommendations from the Economic and Development Affairs Council
