MUSCAT : A core committee, including Junaid, Shamnad, Abid, Siyad, Kiran, Ajmal, Gokul, and Meeraj, approached 12 franchises, Arab Star, Barka Riders, BCC Billah, Bravos XI, Caterpillar, Desert XI, Hala Phone Cosmos, Muscat Raptors, Ruwi Smashers, Team Sinans, Titans and UPC to participate in the league. Each team selected two icon players and added ten additional players through an auction based on a points system. In this league, 120 players were registered, with further interest from those on a waiting list due to the first-come, first-served registration policy.

The tournament was live-streamed on YouTube by webstreaming.in Vijay and team with commentary by KCA’s Shinas Kareem and Muhammad Rafeek. 12 Teams played two matches in the group stage, with eight advancing to the quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, Hala Phone Cosmos defeated Barka Riders, and Team Sinans triumphed over Bravos XI. Team Sinans set a target of 98 runs with the help of Azad Kunnumal’s 47*(15) high scorer of the team losing 3 wickets in 6 overs in the Final. Still, Hala Phone Cosmos, led by Captain Muhammad Ali’s unbeaten 51(18) and Alif Juval Khan’s 31(11), successfully chased the target, winning in the 6th over and finding the way to the championship.

Awards included Man of the Match for all matches, Emerging Player (Sathar Keeran), Most Valuable Player (Muhammad Ali), Best Batter (Alif Juval Khan), Best Bowler (Jaleel), Best Keeper (Nidhin), Best Fielder (Ismail), Semi Finalist (Bravos XI), Semi Finalist (Barka Riders). The Chief guests and BHT officials also received mementoes for their contributions.

The event concluded with an announcement of the upcoming Big Bash BHT League, open to Indian players, with details forthcoming.
