MUSCAT: Oman’s football team face an uphill battle against Palestine in a match that could define their future in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
In a must-win game, Oman will host Palestine at 8pm at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC) on Thursday. A defeat would further weaken Rashid Jaber’s side their chance of qualifying for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
The Red Warriors are sitting in fourth place in Group B with three points to their name, while the visitors are one point adrift at the bottom of the standings. They began their campaign with back-to-back defeats, losing 1-0 in their away meeting with Iraq before falling to a 3-1 loss in their home clash against South Korea.

“We know it’s a crucial game for us and we cannot disappoint. Every player in this side knows the importance of this game,” said Jaber during a pre-match press conference in Muscat on Wednesday.
