Muscat: ABA Oman International School is set to host four major events of the Middle East South Asia Conference (MESAC) during the 2024-2025 academic year, bringing together students from the region in a celebration of athletics, academic, and artistic excellence. MESAC, a prestigious regional league, unites top international schools across the Middle East and South Asia to foster a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration.
The school will serve as the venue for competitions in three MESAC seasons, showcasing Junior Varsity athletes from Grades 8 to 10 and Varsity athletes from Grades 11 and 12. ABA will host the Swimming event in Season 1, Cross Country and Open Tennis in Season 2, and Badminton in Season 3. MESAC Season 1 kicks off on November 7th, with additional competitions such as Academic Games, Volleyball, and Open Golf, to be hosted by other MESAC schools.
Participating schools in the MESAC league include ABA Oman International School, known as the ABA Vipers, Dubai American Academy’s Leopards, American School of Dubai’s Falcons, American Community School of Abu Dhabi’s Sand Vipers, American School of Doha’s Dragons, and the American Embassy School’s Tigers from New Delhi. Hundreds of students from ABA and other MESAC schools are expected to participate in these events, providing an exciting platform for talent, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange.

Sarah Harman, ABA’s Athletics Director, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming events, emphasizing the value they offer in student growth and experiential learning. “Hosting MESAC events is an excellent opportunity for our students to engage in meaningful experiences that extend beyond the classroom,” said Ms. Harman. “We are thrilled to welcome our fellow MESAC schools to ABA. These events not only highlight athletic and artistic talents but also foster collaboration and cultural understanding among students from diverse backgrounds.”
