MUSCAT: Private sector companies in Oman violating the Covid-19 health guidelines and not protecting their workers will be liable to pay fines ranging from OMR 100 to OMR 500, the Ministry of Manpower said on Sunday.
In a decision issued, the Ministry also said it has the right to close “private establishments upon the recommendation of the epidemiological investigation team formed by the Ministry of Health.”

OMR 500 — Fine for not providing quarantine facilities for staff in each workers accommodation or not having a contract with a specialised company that provides quarantine service with a security guard to ensure isolation of the employee.
OMR 300 — Fine will be charged for not dividing the employees in each accommodation according to their distribution in the workplace with the availability of private toilets for each group and for not finding a system that limits mixing of groups during meals.
OMR 300 — Fine for not leaving a vacant seat between workers while they are transported in vehicles.
OMR 100 — Fine for overcrowding in a workers accommodation.
