Muscat: In alignment with the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to preserving and celebrating its maritime history, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has collaborated with Oman Sail to foster cultural exchange with the Republic of India. Responding to an invitation from the Indian Embassy in Muscat, Oman Sail dispatched Captain Saleh bin Saeed Al Jabri to India, where he observed the construction of a traditional ship.
Captain Al Jabri’s visit highlighted the legacy of the Jewel of Muscat, the historic ship that successfully sailed from Muscat to Singapore in 2010. Reflecting on his own experience navigating this route, Captain Al Jabri shared the challenges his crew faced and emphasized the importance of traditional shipbuilding techniques.
