Muscat – The visit aimed to explore collaboration and partnership opportunities in the space sector, highlighting Oman’s commitment to enhancing its presence in the global space industry and contributing to its digital economy. The discussions focused on satellite technologies, capacity building, and the potential for joint space projects, aligning with Oman’s strategic goals for economic diversification and scientific advancement.

The delegation was hosted by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT), represented by the National Centre for Space, Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Technologies.

Oman aims to position itself as a key player in the space sector, in line with its strategic objective for economic diversification and scientific advancement. These discussions are also seen as part of a wider effort to forge strategic partnerships with international entities, particularly the U.S., which is a leader in space exploration and technology.

Over the two days, the participants from the two sides engaged in discussions on various aspects of space enabled services and applications, satellite technologies, and capacity-building efforts, knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and the potential development of joint space projects.

This initiative reflects Oman’s commitment to enhancing its presence in the global space industry, contributing to research and innovation, and benefiting from the expertise of established space-faring nations like the United States.
