Muscat: Pakistan A outclassed the United Arab Emirates by 114 runs to storm into the semifinals of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024. Powered by Mohammad Haris’ blistering 71 and Haider Ali’s 32-run cameo, Pakistan Shaheens posted a formidable total of 179/4 in their allotted 20 overs at Al Amerat.
Opting to bat after winning the toss, Pakistan A took control from the start. Haris led the charge with a fine half-century, while Ali’s finishing touches bolstered the total. In response, UAE crumbled under pressure, with Shahnawaz Dahani wreaking havoc on their batting line-up. The Emirati side could only muster 65 runs before being bowled out.
The win not only seals Pakistan A’s spot in the semifinals but also guarantees India A’s progression. India A will face hosts Oman in the final group stage match, setting up a thrilling showdown.
