Muscat – The 3-day forum is organized by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The event will feature participation of an elite group of experts and specialists from various Arab countries, regional and international organizations concerned with the statistical and information field, and the international tourism sector.
The Forum aims to enhance collaboration among Arab countries in the field of tourism statistics and develop and analyse statistical indicators used for tourism measurements. It will open the platform for tourism statistics experts and specialists to exchange knowledge and experience.
Besides, it will enhance the capabilities of the Arab countries in terms of tourism statistics by conducting workshops and courses on technical resources; develop and unify the methodologies and standards used for tourism data collection and analysis in the Arab countries; provide analysis and reports about tourism trends and economic performances of the sector in the Arab region; enhance communication among stakeholders in the field of tourism statistics; review challenges faced by Arab countries in merging tourism data from different sources; and come up with recommendations that help to develop tourism statistics and data in the Arab countries.
