Duqm Forum 2024 to spotlight blue economy in Oman

The fifth edition of the Duqm Forum, themed "Blue Economy: The New Investment Destination," is set to begin on October 20 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Muscat: Organized by the Al Wusta branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this year’s event is in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.

His Highness Sayyid Harib bin Thuwaini Al Said, Assistant Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers for Conferences, will sponsor the opening ceremony, highlighting the forum’s significance in driving investment in Oman’s burgeoning blue economy.

The forum promises an engaging agenda featuring three in-depth discussion sessions. The first session, “Pillars and Strategies for Investment in the Blue Economy,” will explore governmental strategies and plans that form the foundation of Oman’s investment landscape in this sector.

Following this, the second session, “Blue Investment Opportunities in the Food Security, Logistics, Tourism and Renewable Energy Sectors,” will delve into Oman’s infrastructure and readiness for investment, showcasing potential opportunities that can transform the blue economy.

The third session, “Global Technologies and Experiences that Enhance Investments in the Blue Economy,” aims to foster dialogue on innovative global technologies that can further bolster investment in the blue economy across various fields.

The forum, which is expected to draw a diverse crowd, will feature senior officials, experts, and speakers from both the local and international spheres.
