Tropical depression in Arabian Sea heads westward towards Oman

A tropical depression in the Arabian Sea continues to approach Oman’s southern coasts, with the Civil Aviation Authority closely monitoring its progress.

Muscat: The system, with wind speeds of 20-25 knots at its center, is located approximately 950 kilometers from Oman’s coastline.

Currently classified as a tropical depression, the closest rainy clouds are 520 kilometres away, indicating that the system is moving westward toward the Dhofar Governorate and the Gulf of Aden. Authorities report the system’s location is near latitude 16°N and longitude 66.5°E.
