MUSCAT: Oman will introduce 100 percent excise tax on alcohol starting from today.
In 2019, Oman had imposed a 100% tax rate on alcohol and alcohol products. However, the tax authority temporarily reduced the sin tax to 50%. That temporary rate reduction is removed, and the original rate of 100% for the excise tax on alcohol and alcohol products is now applicable from today.
