Muscat – The Met office released the latest weather updates and analyses from the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre, which has forecast an upper-air low-system on October 8 and 9.
According to the report, clouds are expected to form over several governorates, including Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira, Al Dakhilyia, North Al Batinah, and South Al Batinah, with the potential for isolated rain and occasional thunderstorms.

On Monday, October 7, the weather will see increased cloud formation with variable rain intensity and thunderstorms likely over the Al Hajar Mountains and the above-mentioned governorates. Rainfall amounts are anticipated to range from 20 to 50 mm, which may cause the flow of some wadis. Additionally, fresh downdraft winds are expected to reach speeds of 15-35 knots (28-65 km/h); visibility may be reduced during thunderstorms, with rising dust caused by the downdraft winds.

Cloud formation is expected to continue on Tuesday, October 8, with isolated rain and occasional thunderstorms over the Al Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas. Rainfall is predicted to be between 5 and 10 mm, which may also lead to wadis flowing. Winds will be slightly calmer, ranging from 15 to 20 knots (28-37 km/h), but reduced visibility is still expected during thunderstorms, along with the possibility of rising dust.
