MUSCAT : On September 30, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation of Oman welcomed the Oman American Business Council (OABC) to a pivotal meeting aimed at fostering collaboration between Omani universities and their counterparts in the United States. The meeting included participation from seven of the country’s top universities and colleges, highlighting Oman’s proactive steps toward educational and professional growth through international partnerships.
The initiative, led by HE Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrooqi, Oman’s Minister of Higher Education, reflects Oman’s commitment to strengthening its educational system and supporting the career development of graduates. The meeting focused on a broad spectrum of opportunities, including potential partnerships with U.S. universities, internship programs, and strategies for creating job opportunities for graduates, including remote work opportunities.
In her remarks, HE the Minister encouraged representatives from educational institutions to explore collaboration opportunities with their American counterparts in the areas of education, training, and research, facilitated through the Oman American Business Council (OABC).

The meeting laid the groundwork for future initiatives that will enhance educational and employment opportunities, aligning with Oman’s long-term vision for international collaboration and development in education.
In addition to the discussion on broader educational partnerships, Mind Propel, a U.S.-based company, was also present to explore collaboration on AI education and training programs, adding another dimension to the conversation.
