Al Dhahirah boosts development in Oman with over RO 12 million investment in key projects

The Al Dhahirah Governorate Office signed 13 agreements to implement a series of service and development projects worth more than RO 12.5 million.

MUSCAT : The agreements include two major projects to establish scenic destinations in Yanqul and Dhank, covering an area of 65,000 square meters each. With a combined budget of RO 4 million, these destinations aim to serve both residents and tourists, featuring a wide range of amenities such as open theatres, sports fields, children’s play areas, water bodies, fountains, restaurants, and cafes. The projects are designed to promote tourism, investment, and community engagement in the region.

Additionally, over RO 6 million will be allocated to paving internal roads across the wilayats. Ibri will see 60 kilometers of roads paved, while Yanqul and Dhank will each receive 25 kilometers of newly paved roads. The agreements also include more than RO 2.7 million in road maintenance for areas damaged by previous climatic conditions.

His Excellency Najib bin Ali Al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, emphasized that these agreements form part of the governorate’s development plans for 2023-2024 and will highlight the natural beauty of Oman by enhancing recreational services and maximize local value.

Al Rawas further noted the importance of the road projects, which focus on providing safe, well-maintained routes for residential, commercial, and industrial areas, benefiting the governorate’s communities. He reiterated that these efforts are based on a strategic approach that prioritizes the actual needs of the region’s diverse population.
