Kuwait bars nurses, muezzins from getting driving license

Rules changed for housewives too.

Kuwait City: Muezzins (prayer callers) and nurses have been barred from getting driving licences in Kuwait, according to Al Anba.

General Directorate of Traffic assistant director-general Colonel Youssef Al Khadda issued an edict imposing the ban.

According to a security source, muezzins have been banned from having driving licences as the majority of them live in mosques.

The same ban applies to nurses who use transport provided by the Ministry of Health.

Rules changed for housewives too

Additionally, quoting sources at Traffic Department Arab News reported that driving licenses will be issued to housewives only if they are on dependent visa and have children whose husbands salary is KD 600 and above with designations as advisors, experts, general managers, doctors, pharmacist and member of universities and institutions.

As per latest ministerial decision engineers are not exempted profession hence wives of engineer wives can’t get driving license.
