Muscat – The CPA has issued a statement to announce that its Complaints Department was able to retrieve the amount against the value of a vehicle that the consumer purchased from a car showroom.
The CPA pointed out that the consumer had purchased a new vehicle from one of the auto agencies in Muscat Governorate, but experienced repeated technical malfunctions in the air conditioning and steering wheel on use. He returned the car to the agency, which began repairing the problems, but the issue persisted.
Following a complaint from the consumer, who claimed reimbursement for both material and moral losses as well as the recovery of the vehicle’s value, the CPA contacted the relevant agency and mediated an amicable solution. As part of the settlement, it was decided to refund the customer and let the agency retrieve the car.
The CPA underscores the importance of dealers and suppliers adhering to consumer protection laws and fulfilling their obligations to ensure consumer rights and safety when delivering goods and services.
