Muscat – This innovative approach marks a significant step towards sustainable infrastructure development in Oman.

Rubber-modified asphalt is known for its superior flexibility and resistance to cracking, abrasion, and thermal effects. By incorporating this material, the Ministry aims to enhance the durability and lifespan of road surfaces. Besides, the use of rubber-modified asphalt will contribute to environmental sustainability by recycling used tires and reducing overall pollution.

The pilot project in Al Khabourah is part of a broader initiative to incorporate environmentally friendly technologies into Oman’s road construction practices. The Ministry’s efforts underscore a commitment to both improving road quality and promoting sustainable development in the region.
