MUSCAT : In a notice issued online, the Ministry has highlighted the crucial role of employers in ensuring workplace safety. According to the regulations, employers or their representatives are mandated to implement all necessary measures to protect the safety of workers while they are on the job.
Key safety measures outlined in the directive include the proper arrangement of stored materials. Employers must clearly mark storage locations on the floors and utilize metal racks and shelves for organizing items. Additionally, materials must be stored with a minimum distance of three feet from the ceiling to ensure adequate air circulation and reduce hazards.
To further enhance safety, the Ministry emphasizes the importance of providing secure ladders for accessing and retrieving materials from shelves. These measures are designed to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
