Muscat – This resolution followed complaints from the consumers about the establishment’s failure to complete work according to the agreed terms.
One consumer had contracted the establishment for RO 1,300 to install doors, windows, and kitchen fittings in a new home. Another consumer had paid RO 1,700 for window installations at their residence. Both parties were dissatisfied with the incomplete work, leading them to file complaints with the Directorate.
The Directorate General of Consumer Protection took action by mediating between the consumers and the establishment. As a result, the contracts were terminated, and the consumers were refunded a total of RO 3,000. This outcome highlights the Directorate’s commitment to protecting consumer rights and ensuring that businesses adhere to contractual agreements.
Through such settlements, the CPA continues to strengthen trust between consumers and suppliers in the local market, enhancing overall consumer confidence.
