Muscat – The new resolution aims to enhance environmental protection and compliance.
The addition of new clause, No. 5, to Article 12 of the regulations, stipulates a financial requirement of RO 250,000 for oil and gas production projects at each site.
The resolution also amends Article 21 by introducing clause No. 10, which mandates that an environmental audit study must be submitted by an approved environmental consulting office for certain projects. These projects include oil refineries, chemical and petrochemical industries, industrial city and port developments, heavy industries, and oil and gas production.
The resolution underscores the commitment to fostering a sustainable environment and ensuring rigorous environmental protection across key sectors.
