Oman’s real estate trading surpasses RO 1.4 billion

The total value of real estate trading in Oman rose by 0.5 percent during the first half of 2024, reaching OMR 1,409,600,000, compared to OMR 1,402,500,000 in the same period of 2023.

Muscat – Statistics from the National Centre for Statistics and Information show that fees collected for all legal transactions totaled RO 32.3 million, a decrease of 3.5 percent from RO 33.4 million in the same period last year. Additionally, the traded value of sale contracts reached RO 545.6 million across 32,596 contracts, with the number of contracts decreasing by 0.9 percent.

The traded value of mortgage contracts increased by 0.5 percent, reaching RO 856.7 million for 10,028 contracts, up from RO 852.1 million for the same period in 2023.

The number of swap contracts totaled 671, with a value of RO 7.3 million by the end of the first half of this year, compared to RO 4.8 million in the previous year, reflecting a 52 percent increase.

By the end of June 2024, a total of 109,666 properties were issued, down 7 percent from 117,870 properties in the same period of 2023. In contrast, the number of properties issued to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens increased by 5.2 percent, reaching 666 properties compared to 633 title deeds in the first half of 2023.
