MUSCAT : The CDAA is calling on visitors to follow its khareef safety guide, which delineates steps ranging from the preparation of the journey to the arrival in Dhofar.

As part of the preparation of the journey, motorists are urged to check the vehicle and ensure proper maintenance, prepare first aid bag and necessary tools and ensure validity of the fire extinguisher.
Prior to the start of the journey, the CDAA suggests disposing off the house waste, ensuring that the electricity is disconnected from equipment, water and gas sources are closed and doors/gates are securely locked.

During the journey, the guide points out the need to stopp the vehicle if the engine overheats and slow down the car if weather changes suddenly – follow the safety procedures while driving.

Upon arriving, the guide suggests opening the windows and doors in the event of gas smell in the chosen accommodation as well as keeping matchsticks and lighters out of children’s reach.

Here is what to do if an accident occurred in front of you?

1. Stop your vehicle away from the accident and use the hazard lights to warn other drivers.
2. Ensure the safety of the accident scene.
3. In case of fire in the vehicle, try to extinguish it using your fire extinguisher.
4. Try to save any injured person and get them away from danger, if possible.
5. Call for assistance on (9999) or (24343666) and keep the communication going to answer any inquiry.
