Muscat: In collaboration with the Syrian Embassy and the Syrian Community’s Social Club, the festival showcased a diverse range of films that offered a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Syrian culture and society.

The event featured a compelling mix of award-winning short films, including the thought-provoking “On the Roof of Damascus,” which delves into the challenges faced by a generation navigating both virtual and real-world realities. The documentary “The Journey of Syrian Silk” offered a mesmerizing exploration of the country’s heritage, while “Yasmine” presented a poignant docudrama that left a lasting impact.

Beyond the screenings, a dialogue session with the director provided valuable insights into the filmmaking process and inspired local filmmakers. The festival continues today with more powerful stories, including “Photograph,” which sheds light on the devastating impact of war on Syrian children.

The Omani Cinema Society aims to foster a deeper appreciation for cinema and promote cultural exchange through such events. By showcasing films from different cultures, the society hopes to build bridges and encourage dialogue.
