MUSCAT : In the early hours of Tuesday, a series of devastating landslides hit the Meppadi area of Wayanad, resulting in the tragic loss of 73 lives. The landslides have severely impacted Meppadi, Mundakkal Town, and Chooralmala areas, prompting a large-scale emergency response.
Rescue personnel, medical equipment, and health workers are actively stationed at Vythiri, Mananthawadi, Kalpetta, and Meppadi government hospitals to provide urgent aid and support to those affected by the disaster.
The World Malayalee Federation Oman has expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy. “The World Malayalee Federation Oman extends heartfelt condolences to the victims of the tragic landslide in Wayanad today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected families and communities during this difficult time. We stand in solidarity with you, offering our support and deepest sympathies. May those lost rest in peace, and may the survivors find strength and courage to overcome this adversity,” stated George P.
