MUSCAT : Majority of registered vehicles had engine capacities ranging between 1,500 and 3,000 cc, accounting for 54.3 percent (925,144 vehicles).
According to statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, 42.6 percent of vehicles were white, accounting for 726,558 vehicles.
While commercially licensed vehicles accounted for 14.6 percent, with the number reaching 248,426 vehicles, the total number of rental vehicles amounted to 36,312, representing 2.1 percent. Total number of taxis amounted to 28,093 vehicles, representing 1.6 percent.
In terms of weighs, the number of vehicles weighing less than 3 tons reached 1,545,977 vehicles, representing 90.7 percent of the total vehicles registered in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of the first half of 2024.
