Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has commenced the construction of a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) train at the industrial complex in Qalhat, located in the Wilayat of Sur. This project aims to add an estimated 3.8 million metric tons of LNG production capacity annually, bringing the nation’s total LNG output to an impressive 15.2 million tons per year.
The new facility, named “Sur LNG Company,” is designed to optimize operational efficiency and leverage existing infrastructure. The construction phase is projected to be completed by 2029.
