Muscat – The project, undertaken by Tasnim Projects, extends from the wilayats of Al Kamil and Al Wafi and Sur, and connects the North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah governorates.

With a budget exceeding RO 68 million, the project encompasses several key developments. These include upgrading the existing road to a dual carriageway with three lanes, covering approximately 52 kilometers from Wilayat of Al Kamil and Al Wafi to Wilayat of Sur. Additionally, the road segment from Bilad Sur Roundabout to Sur Plaza Hotel will be converted into a dual carriageway with two lanes over a 3-kilometer stretch.
The scope of the project also involves constructing an overpass, multiple wadi crossing bridges, arch bridges, vehicle tunnels, and pedestrian underpasses. Work will include installing lighting and traffic signals in Wilayat Sur.
This infrastructure project is designed to enhance traffic flow and improve connectivity between various areas in the governorates, thereby contributing to regional economic and social development. The project is anticipated to take around 22 months to complete, with significant upgrades such as converting the Bilad Sur Roundabout to traffic signals and enhancing the road in Wilayat Sur.
