Pakistan strongly condemns shooting incident in Muscat’s Wadi Kabir area

Pakistan has strongly condemned the shooting incident that took place at Imam Bargah Ali bin Abu Talib in Wadi Kabir, which resulted in multiple casualties, including the deaths of four Pakistani nationals.

Muscat – As per the latest update from the Pakistan Embassy in Oman, “Four Pakistanis were martyred as a result of gunshots in the dastardly attack on the Ali bin Abi Talib mosque in Wadi Kabir; 30 Pakistanis are under treatment in hospitals.”
The Embassy listed the names of the martyrs as follows:

  1. Ghulam Abbas
  2. Hasan Abbas
  3. Sayyed Qaisar Abbas
  4. Sulaiman Nawaz
    In a statement issued, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Our Embassy in Oman remains in contact with Omani authorities for identification and repatriation of the mortal remains of the two Pakistanis who perished in the attack. It has also opened a helpline to respond to queries from the community and to facilitate them in Oman. Ambassador Imran Ali is also visiting local hospitals to inquire about the well-being of injured Pakistani nationals.”
    The Embassy appreciates the swift action by the Omani government in neutralizing the attackers and has offered all possible assistance to the authorities in their investigation to ensure those responsible for the heinous act are brought to justice, the statement noted.
