MUSCAT : The Muscat Municipality is seeking to raise awareness among community members about the importance and benefits of registering lease contracts for both landlords and tenants.
By ensuring lease contracts are properly documented, the municipality aims to preserve the rights of all parties involved and to establish a fair and sustainable rental system.
It lists the adverse effects of not documenting lease contracts as follows:
- Loss of rights for both landlords and tenants in disputes
- Speculation in rental prices
The Municipality aims to explain that the purpose of registering lease contracts is to streamline and update the registration process, making related procedures simpler and more efficient.
To support this initiative, the Municipality urges community members to report any negative behavior or disputes related to lease contracts through the Contact Centre at 1111, so that appropriate legal action can be taken.
