Muscat – The delegation aimed to study advancements in IT, AI, education, innovation, talent management, and capacity building to transform Omani campuses into smart and sustainable spaces.
The delegation included Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, and 20 representatives from private higher education institutions and both government and private sectors in Oman.
During their visit to Huawei’s headquarters, the delegates participated in field tours across different departments and learned about the company’s latest innovations and technical solutions for the education sector. These solutions involve integrating traditional education with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things.
Dr. Al-Nabhaniya emphasized the significance of strategic partnerships and knowledge sharing between Oman and China, supported by companies like Huawei. This collaboration aligns with Oman Vision 2040, aiming to enhance national capabilities and transition the economy towards a knowledge-based model under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

The delegation also attended the ICT Talent Development Forum held by Shenzhen University of Applied Sciences and Huawei, where they explored successful approaches to nurturing talent in the ICT sector. Dr. Al-Nabhaniya highlighted the importance of empowering talented individuals to excel domestically and globally.

Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani presented a paper on the involvement of Omani higher education institutions in nurturing talent and enhancing students’ abilities in IT and communication. The presentation showcased effective practices and successful endeavors within Omani higher education institutions.
This visit underscores Oman’s commitment to reducing the disparity in knowledge, skills, and digital expertise among students and enhancing collaboration with global partners in areas supporting talent and skills development in AI, cyber-security, energy, biotechnology, food security, and water resources.
