MUSCAT : The Sultanate of Oman has experienced a robust start to 2024 in tourism, welcoming over 1 million and 500 thousand visitors from January to April, which represents a 13% increase from the same period in 2023.
Notably, the hospitality sector has also seen substantial growth, with the number of guests staying in 3 to 5-star hotels reaching 768 thousand, marking a 14.9% increase compared to last year. This growth reflects both increased visitor numbers and the expanding infrastructure catering to Oman’s tourism influx.
Key tourist attractions have also reported significant visitor increases. Al Jabal Al Akhdar saw a notable rise of 25.8% in visitors in April 2024 compared to the same period last year. Similarly, the Daymaniyat Islands Reserve experienced 73.2% increase in visitors during April 2024.
