MUSCAT: 1,000 participants from 54 countries will compete in the first edition of Oman’s Ironman 70.3, which will kick-off in Muscat on Friday.
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, the competition includes three races: Swimming for 1.9km, cycling for 90km, and running for 21.1km.

“IronMan is a chance to showcase the tourist destination of the Sultanate to draw in other international competitions that impact domestic tourism,” said Ministry of Tourism in a statement.

The first edition will start at the Qurum Beach and is expected to cover some of the best locations in the country.
