Muscat – H.E. Dr. Al Mahrouqi was addressing the Shura Council session chaired by H.E. Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali.
In her address, Dr. Al Mahrouqi highlighted concerns over the differential treatment of Omani students in these institutions compared to their peers.
“We banned scholarships to some institutions in Jordan after it was proven that Omani students were treated differently compared to other students,” she stated. This decision aims to ensure equitable treatment and educational standards for Omani students studying abroad.
The Minister also addressed the issue of Omani students who had chosen to study in Jordan without Ministry approval and are now facing challenges in the process of certificate equivalence upon their return. She emphasized the benefits of studying locally, noting potential savings on housing, travel, and living expenses.
