MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Saturday received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron.
During the call, Macron expressed his gratitude to His Majesty for the efforts made by his government in securing the release of a French citizen Louis Arnaud who was detained in Iran.
Arnaud, a banking consultant, was arrested while travelling through Iran in 2022. He was later sentenced to five years in prison on national security charges.
