Minister highlights Oman’s labour reforms at International Labour Conference

H.E. Dr. Mahad Said Ba'Owain, Minister of Labour, addressed the 112th session of the International Labor Conference following the Sultanate's recent victory as a full member of the organization's Board of Directors.

Muscat – In his speech, H.E. Dr. Ba’Owain emphasized Oman’s commitment to creating a safe and secure work environment for all. He highlighted the issuance of a new labour law, a product of collaboration between workers, employers, and the government. This new law prioritizes both worker and employer rights while fostering a balanced labour market and strong labor relations.

H.E. Dr. Ba’Owain also commended Oman’s social protection system that unifies various social benefits and insurance programs under one umbrella. This system, recognized by the International Labour Organization and the International Social Security Association, offers comprehensive protection against a wide range of social risks for all citizens.
