Ministry signs deals for 10 new tourism projects in Oman

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism signed 10 usufruct contracts to develop a series of tourism projects on government-owned tourist lands, with a total investment exceeding RO 6 million.

MUSCAT : The contracts were signed by H.E. Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and representatives from the investing companies.

The projects span multiple locations and include the following developments:

  • 3-star hotel and a tourist rest house in Salalah.
  • Tourist camp in the Al-Khudf area in Thumrait.
  • 3-star tourist resort in Shalim and the Halaniyat Islands in Dhofar Governorate.
  • 3-star hotel, an adventure center, and a luxury tourist camp in Barakat Al Sharaf.
  • 3-star resort in Misfat Al Abriyeen in Al Hamra in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
  • Luxury tourist camp in Wadi Mastal.
  • Tourist camp in the Al Abyad area in Nakhal in the South Al Batinah Governorate.
  • Luxury tourist camp in Jaalan Bani Bu Ali in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

    Amira bint Iqbal Al Lawati, Director General of Tourism Development at the Ministry, noted that the signing of these contracts is part of the broader investment program aimed at enhancing the tourism sector across all governorates of Oman.

    The new projects are expected to have significant economic and social impacts, including creating job opportunities and boosting local content. Additionally, these projects will increase the availability of hotel rooms and facilities, aligning with the objectives of the comprehensive tourism development plan.
