Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Sunday issued a Royal Decree appointing Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi as the new Minister of Heritage and Culture.

His Excellency Salem bin Muhammad Al Mahrouqi had held the position of undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture for Heritage Affairs since 2010, according to a Royal Decree issued by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur.
Al Mahrouqi hold a master’s degree in International Affairs from the American University in Washington. It is worth noting that Al Mahrouqi received the Italian Star Medal granted to him by the Italian government in 2016, in appreciation of his efforts in developing good bilateral relations between the two countries in the cultural and heritage fields.
