Muscat – During his visit, the CPA Chairman met with H.E. Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of the North Al Batinah Governorate to discuss aspects of joint cooperation and coordination, monitor market activities, and address consumer observations and proposals.

This visit is part of an ongoing series of field visits to various governorates, as part of the Authority’s initiative to build bridges of cooperation and maintain communication with the consumer community.
The visit aimed to follow up on the progress of work within the Authority’s departments and offices, and to review the efforts made by its teams on the ground.

During the meeting, H.E. Al Hakmani presented a visual overview of the Authority’s efforts, services provided, and its collaborative role with various relevant authorities. He highlighted the Authority’s relationship with consumers, supervisory efforts in the markets, community initiatives, and awareness campaigns. Statistical indicators for 2023 were also shared to illustrate the impact of these initiatives.
Accompanied by H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources for Agriculture, the CPA Chairman visited the Logistics City in the Wilayat of Liwa. They were briefed on the objectives of the one-stop station, its components, sections, and the integration of its facilities to achieve quality and safety standards. The city’s role in facilitating container and truck movement in ports and its specialized laboratories for raising food quality and safety standards were also highlighted.

H.E. Al Hakamani conducted a field tour of the central market for vegetables and fruits in the governorate to ensure the availability of goods and adherence to consumer protection laws ahead of Eid Al Adha. He met with suppliers to discuss the importance of maintaining sufficient quantities of fresh produce to meet consumer demands and ensure market stability.

His Excellency also interacted with consumers to hear their comments and suggestions regarding the availability, stability, and quality of goods. Furthermore, he met with the employees of the Directorate General of Consumer Protection for North Al Batinah Governorate, praising their oversight and awareness efforts, and urging them to continue improving the level of work and services provided to beneficiaries.
