MUSCAT : In a notice issued online, the FSQC stated that storing bottled water in direct sunlight, particularly within a hot car, can lead to the leaching of chemicals from the plastic container into the water, thus deteriorating its quality and increasing health risks.
FSQC pointed out that some individuals habitually store bottled water in their vehicles for extended periods, subjecting the plastic containers to direct sunlight.
The Center advises against this practice, emphasizing the importance of storing bottled water in cool, shaded areas to maintain its integrity and safety for consumption.
