MUSCAT : Located in the Wadi Adai stream in the Wilayat of Muttrah, Muscat Governorate, the project is estimated to cost RO 38 million.

Initiated in February this year, the project is expected to be complete by the end of 2026
The Wadi Adai Dam is the third dam within a comprehensive flood protection system. This system, encompassing six additional dams, will shield the Al Qurum commercial district and urban areas in Al Amerat from the impact of heavy rains.
Engineer Nasser bin Mohammed Al Battashi, Director General of the Directorate-General of Water Resources Assessment at the Ministry, highlighted the project’s significance in intercepting rainwater and floods originating from six southern valleys in Al Amerat. This initiative builds upon the successful completion of the Al-Amerat and Al-Jufaina dams, further bolstering flood protection capabilities in the region.
The dam will be 220 meters long and 39 meters high, constructed from stones and compacted earth. It will feature an asphalt wall to prevent water permeability and a 120-meter side concrete spillway designed for maximum flood rainfall. It will have a storage capacity of 23 million cubic meters and will be equipped with devices to measure groundwater levels, water levels in the lake, silt levels, and subsidence.
