MUSCAT : Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Alawi, the visionary CEO behind Darrbak, shared insights with the Oman News Agency into the platform’s inception during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite global adversities, Darrbak emerged successful, leveraging the crisis to refine its offerings and elevate the local adventure tourism sector.


He mentioned that idea of the company came with the aim of creating a platform that facilitates users’ access to service providers, whether individuals or companies, to provide many activities and experiences, most notably natural adventure tourism such as mountain climbing, diving, and sea trips.
The Darrbak platform includes 72 specialized tourism partners offering 131 diverse experiences across Oman’s majestic landscapes. Rigorous site assessments ensure safety and excitement, guiding adventurers through a tapestry of mountain climbs, sea voyages, and cultural immersions.

The platform’s recognition at the COMEX International Technology Exhibition underscores its innovative edge, supported by the Oman Technology Fund and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority.
