MUSCAT: Oman welcomed on Sunday a Gaza ceasefire laid out by US President Joe Biden, Oman News Agency reported.
“The Sultanate of Oman calls on all parties to deal positively with the proposed initiatives in a way that preserves the rights and legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people and alleviates their suffering,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
”The Sultanate of Oman expressed its hope that this would lead to an end to the Israeli aggression and a complete withdrawal of its forces from Gaza, enabling the reconstruction of the Strip to begin and the return of normal life to it, and that it would be a step towards restoring the Palestinian people to all their legitimate rights and establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” the Ministry added.
