MUSCAT : Reports indicate that all flights to Kochi from Sharjah, Muscat, Dammam, and Bahrain have been cancelled. Specifically, the flight to Muscat, which was scheduled for 8.50 am, has been among those affected. Additionally, domestic flights from Kochi to Bengaluru and flights from Kannur to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Muscat have also been cancelled.

As per online sources, the disruption arose due to disagreements over the allocation of allowances, leading to a sudden strike initiated by around 250 cabin crew members. The strike has caused inconvenience to passengers, with many flights experiencing delays and cancellations.

While Air India Express has not provided alternate facilities for affected passengers, steps are being taken to process full or partial refunds of fares. Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.

The cabin crew members, protesting against new employment terms, have expressed concerns regarding equality in treatment, changes to compensation packages, and alleged suppression of dissenting voices within the airline management.

In response, Air India Express is actively engaging with the protesting crew members to address their grievances and minimize disruptions to passenger travel.
