MUSCAT: Only Mwasalat, the authorised taxi service operator, will be allowed to pick passengers from Muscat International Airport, the Ministry of Transport and Communications tweeted on Wednesday.
“The ministry places a notice signboard in #mct_airport ,as per the regulations, to remind all that such location is granted for the authorized taxi services operator @mwasalat_taxi only,” the tweet read.
The board placed at Muscat Airport reads that unauthorised passenger transport by illegal taxis to Muscat International Airport will attract a fine of RO 200.

However, it is not clear that whether individuals can drop and pick their relatives and friends at the airport. Additionally, it is also not clear that whether orange coloured taxis can drop passengers at airport and pick them back.
From January 1, Mwasalat is running taxi services at Muscat airport at a reduced fare.
According to the taxi operator, Mwasalat’s base fare (6am-10pm) from Sunday to Thursday is RO2.5.
