Muscat: Over the past 24 hours, numerous wilayats across Oman have recorded scorching temperatures. In Dima wa Al Taiyyin, Al Kamil Wa Al Wafi, Rustaq, and Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, thermometers climbed to 40°C and above.
Conversely, higher altitudes such as Jabel Shams and Saiq offered some respite, registering lower temperatures of 12.8°C and 15.3°C, respectively.
The meteorological department has issued warnings about persistent southeastern winds across the governorates of Al Dhahirah, South al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar. These winds are expected to elevate dust levels, reducing horizontal visibility.
