MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has pardoned a total of 5,733 prisoners since assuming power in January 2020, according to the list monitored by The Arabian Stories.
Among the inmates who were convicted for various cases include both citizens and foreigners. On Tuesday, His Majesty issued a special Royal Pardon to 154 prisoners on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr. His Majesty issues Royal Pardon during special occasions such as Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, National Day, and Accession Day.
