Omani racer Al-Faisal bin Khalid Al-Zubair clinched an impressive second place finish in the inaugural round of the 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge (Endurance Cup) held at the renowned Paul Ricard circuit in France.

Muscat – Competing in the Gold Cup category, Al-Faisal, alongside his teammates Dominik Baumann from Austria and Mikael Grenier from Canada, maneuvered their Mercedes GT3 Evo to secure the runner-up position.

The race, which unfolded over the course of three thrilling hours on the iconic 5.791-kilometer circuit, witnessed fierce competition among the contenders. Prior to the main event, participants in the Gold Cup category engaged in a free practice session on Saturday morning, during which the Al-Manar Racing Team, represented by Al-Faisal Al-Zubair, secured a commendable third place, clocking their best time at one hour, 54 minutes, and 696 hundredths of a second.

Reflecting on his performance, Al-Faisal Al-Zubair expressed satisfaction with the team’s achievement, emphasizing the intense competition throughout the race. He praised the team’s efforts and expressed optimism for even better results in the upcoming rounds of this prestigious motorsport event.
