Muscat – H.E. Lenderking highlighted the crucial role played by the Sultanate of Oman in regional peace efforts and in mitigating escalation in the Red Sea and fostering peace in the region.
Lenderking arrived in the Arabian Gulf region this week to discuss regional coordination on maritime security in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, following recent attacks by Houthi rebels on commercial ships. His travel includes visit to Saudi Arabia and Oman to meet with partners to discuss the need for an immediate cessation of Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, which are undermining progress on the Yemen peace process and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Yemen and other countries in need.
